Oklahoma Children's Hospital at OU Health

At Oklahoma’s only Level 1 Trauma Center, you’ll find pediatric physicians and specially trained trauma doctors working together to deal with the effects of traumatic injury on growing bodies. These pediatric trauma experts treat life-threatening situations by delivering the highest level of trauma care in the region. And they coordinate your child’s care between the Trauma Center and Oklahoma Children’s Hospital through a multidisciplinary team-based approach.

Caregiver Support Group

Mondays • 6:00 pm- 7:00 pm CST

This is a support group for caregivers. If interested contact the Trauma Coordinator and they will send a referral. They will then add your email to the caregiver support group list and links are sent weekly to provide online access. Learn more

Grief Support Group

EVERY OTHER MONDAY, JANUARY TO MAY • 6:30-7:30 pm

Calm Waters Grief Support Groups are ongoing. Families, children, ages 3 to 18, and individuals, may join a support group at any time and attend as long as needed. Learn more

NextSteps

Class begins October 12, 2022

NextSteps is a free online program to help you manage your life after a serious injury. You can engage in the weekly education modules and live chats with other trauma survivors. NextSteps can help you explore the ways your life has changed after traumatic injury and how you can move forward on your journey. Phoenix Society—Resources for Caregivers and Children

The Phoenix Society is a strong voice for burn survivors, their families, and their caretakers—advocating that healing is life-long process. They focus on information and resources for families of survivors in recovery.

Respite Voucher Program

Provides financial assistance to caregivers in the form of vouchers that can be used to pay for respite care so the caregiver can take a break. There are income guidelines. Family can call numbers provided and request respite voucher application. They will determine if applicant qualifies. Approval process may take several weeks. Sunbeam Family Services

Sunbeam’s therapists support families and children from birth through adolescence providing a mental health continuum of care to include promotion, prevention, intervention and treatment.
