St. Luke's University Hospital

St. Luke’s University Hospital is a 480-bed academic teaching hospital located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and serves patients in Northeast PA and NJ.  St. Luke’s is accredited by the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation as an Adult Level I Trauma Center, which is the highest designation a trauma center can receive.  The Trauma Center at St. Luke’s provides care 24/7 to roughly 2,500 severely injured patients per year. The trauma team consists of fellowship-trained trauma surgeons and nurses with advanced education and training in the treatment of traumatic injuries.

A trauma center consists of much more than an emergency department, operating rooms and specialized equipment. Successful patient outcomes depend on the availability of a trauma team – a group of multi-skilled individuals with a unique level of commitment, expertise in trauma care, as well as a passion to caring for injured patients and their loved ones.

St. Luke’s Trauma Center and Emergency Department work in partnership with our region's emergency medical services, our first line of defense against injury and disease. It is vitally important to quality patient care that we work together for the safety of the community.

In addition to treating injuries, St. Luke's Adult Level I Trauma Center has a commitment to education, research and injury prevention.
