Models of Family Support
There are two popular models for implementing family support within TSN programs. The first model is referred to as Snack and Chat or Family Lounge, where loved ones are invited to leave the bedside and meet in a communal area for snack, support, and comfort. The second model is referred to as a Comfort Cart, where a staff member, peer visitor, or trained volunteer pushes a cart with snacks and resources on it room to room to provide loved ones with comfort and the bedside.
