
St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, a level I pediatric trauma center, located in North Philadelphia, is a 178-bed pediatric hospital dedicated to the physical and emotional well-being of children. A leader in pediatric care since 1875, St. Christopher’s nationally recognized programs provide exceptional care for children from across Southeastern Pennsylvania and around the world. Graduate medical education has been an integral part of St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children for more than 60 years as we strive to maintain an appropriate balance between scientific inquiry and humanistic clinical care in training residents and fellows. In 2013, the Trauma Center at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children celebrated 10 years of accreditation as a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center. The mission of the St. Christopher’s Trauma Center is to reduce death and disability for the children of our community. Able to treat anything from minor injuries to burns to severe multi-system traumas, a team of dedicated pediatric specialists provides compassionate individualized care, from the moment of arrival through to recovery and rehabilitation. As the only dedicated pediatric burn facility in the area, St. Christopher’s Burn Center prides itself on having a multidisciplinary team of pediatric specialists trained to work specifically with young burn patients. To augment our world-class patient care, the staff of the Trauma Service provides a full range of trauma-related education for healthcare providers of all levels and a comprehensive Injury Prevention program for patients, families, and members of the community.

Healing Hurt People at Drexel is a program for people ages 8 to 35 who have been shot, stabbed, or assaulted, and for those who have witnessed these events. The goal is to help survivors heal from their physical and emotional wounds in order to support their well-being and personal healing, and, ultimately, break the cycle of violence.
