Cohen Children's Medical Center

Each year, millions of children sustain serious or even life-threatening injuries due to falls, automobile collisions and other accidents. When these traumatic injuries happen, it's critical that you act fast and trust your child's care to a specialized staff of professionals with years of experience working as a team.

You can count on Cohen Children’s Medical Center, the largest Level I Pediatric Trauma Center in New York state. Established in 1996, the New York State Department of Health designated us as the first regional Pediatric Trauma Center in the entire downstate/Long Island region. In 2015, we were the first Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center verified by the American College of Surgeons Committee on trauma in New York City and Long Island. We consider this an honor and remain dedicated to setting the highest standards for pediatric trauma care in the country.

Available 24 hours a day, our highly trained multidisciplinary team expertly coordinates the complex care of children who have experienced severe and life-threatening injuries. We excel under extreme pressure, all while establishing a rapport with the children, maintaining a gentle touch and staying in communication with family members.
