A Program of the ATS

Home Safety

Occupational therapists have expertise and training in home safety assessments. A home safety assessment, completed in the client’s home environment, addresses safety concerns and can identify ways to promote safe independence. Occupational therapists evaluate the potential need for assistance or supervision, and/or make recommendations for adaptive equipment or functional strategies to improve level of functioning. Therapists can also provide caregiver training.
