Social Isolation

Due to illness and natural migration of families over time, often relatives and close friends are not accessible to the elderly patient. This may result in feelings of isolation. As the bonds between family members and friends are weakened, this affects the psychological state of the patient and may put him or her at higher risk of abuse due to lack of self confidence and depression.
