Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center

Atrium Health is one of the nation’s leading and most advanced healthcare organizations. With more than 750 care locations, it provides a full range of healthcare and wellness programs across North and South Carolina. The F.H. "Sammy" Ross Jr. Trauma Center at Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center is the region's only Level I Trauma Center. This is the highest level given by the American College of Surgeons. The Trauma Center provides the most advanced trauma care available for injuries that occur in Mecklenburg and the 14 surrounding counties in the Carolinas. The trauma team specializes in complete diagnosis and treatment for all forms of traumatic injury 24 hours a day. Atrium Health's MedCenter Air offers full critical care transport services to patients through ambulance, helicopter and aircraft transportation. This makes access to the best care just minutes away from anywhere in the region. All transportation is equipped and staffed with highly-trained medical and flight specialists to serve as airborne and mobile critical care units. Carolinas Rehabilitation provides the most advanced care through a broad range of medical services. The types of therapy services include physical, occupational, speech, recreational and psychological therapies. Carolinas Rehabilitation offers inpatient facilities, outpatient doctor clinics and outpatient therapy locations. They provide complete rehabilitation care with a focus on quality and safety. Carolinas Trauma Network (CTN) is the region's only clinical network that meets the needs of injured patients across care settings. Because trauma impacts every community and healthcare provider, it is a public health issue. Carolinas Trauma Network is advancing the standard of care for trauma survivors by focusing on evidence-based guidelines and the research efforts of the CTN Research Center of Excellence.
