Renown Regional Medical Center is the region’s only Level II Trauma Center, serving communities between Sacramento and Salt Lake City. The Trauma Center is equipped with multiple helipads and dedicated ambulance bays to ensure rapid access to lifesaving care. Our expert trauma team provides comprehensive treatment, coordinated support and ongoing resources to help patients and families navigate the road to recovery.

Nicole Bishop is the Pediatric Trauma Program Manager for Renown Children’s Hospital in Reno, NV, with over 26 years of experience in pediatric critical care nursing. Nicole directs her clinical focus and leadership on providing the highest level of pediatric healthcare and outcomes to children. In her current role, she is responsible for quality and trauma patient care initiatives, trauma performance improvement and trauma program development.

Safe Embrace: Provides trauma-informed intervention and prevention programs for individuals affected by domestic and sexual violence. Their services are designed to empower survivors, promote safety and foster long-term healing. They facilitate educational programs and community outreach to raise awareness and prevent violence. Safe Embrace is dedicated to ensuring access for all survivors. Washoe Suicide Prevention Alliance (through NNPH): Provides information about temporary, out-of-home secure gun storage is a sensible way to make a home safer. In Nevada, there are legal options for a local licensed firearm dealer, an immediate family member, or even a trusted friend to temporarily store firearms to prevent harm to oneself or others. Nevada Warmline: The Nevada Warmline is a stigma-free, non-crisis peer support phone service. You can call at 775-241-4212, noon–10p.m., 7 days a week, 365 days per year. You will speak one-on-one with a Peer Wellness Operator. Zero Fatalities: The mission of Zero Fatalities is to eliminate fatalities on our roadways. Provides education about the five safe driving behaviors, pedestrian and bicyclist safety, motorcyclist safety. BRAIN – Brain Recovery Assistance Institute Nevada: BRAIN is a unique coaching program focused on the real-world approach to a “next step” program for individuals with acquired and traumatic brain injuries. Programs are client centered and represent a continuum of care with a focus on empowerment, life skills, vocational services, and community re-entry. Neuromechanics Lab – UNR: They provide baseline and post-injury assessments for concussion management at little to no cost to the patients. The Neuromechanics Laboratory, located on the University of Nevada, Reno’s campus within the Lombardi Recreation Center, primary role is to serve the community by providing critical services for concussion patients. Our expert staff will provide reliable and valid testing that can be used to aid in the clinical decision-making process. The lab has numerous clinical partners throughout the state of Nevada and is the primary concussion evaluator for University sports, Truckee Meadows Community College sports, Washoe County School Districts and many others. Family Caregiver Alliance (FCA): The Family Caregiver Alliance addresses the needs of family and friends providing long-term care for loved ones at home. It provides support, information, and tools to manage the complex demands of caregiving. ADA National Network: The ADA National Network provides information, guidance and training on how to implement the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in order to support the mission of the ADA to “assure equality of opportunity, full participation, independent living, and economic self-sufficiency for individuals with disabilities.” ADA specialists help families address complex questions on a wide range of ADA topics such as reasonable accommodations at work, building codes for new construction projects, accessible housing, and transitioning from school to work.
