Trauma Llama Takeover: UM R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center
The R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore was honored to host Atlas the Trauma Llama, who quickly became a beloved fixture within our Trauma Survivors Network (TSN) and the Center for Injury Prevention & Policy. During his ‘residency’ with us, Atlas was everywhere – visiting the trauma units, participating in injury prevention trainings, and being a supportive presence with survivors and families through all our TSN programs. He even joined our Violence Prevention team at the Gun Violence Prevention Summit and met Mayor Brandon Scott. Because Atlas became such a meaningful part of our team, we struggled to say goodbye! To celebrate his journey, we created a special PowerPoint and Spotify playlist to capture his best moments. Though Atlas is a stuffed animal (or is he?), his time here served as a powerful reminder that on the road to recovery, connection and joy truly matter. We’re so excited to see where his mission of support takes him next!
Atlas is also a big fan of music and his friends at Shock Trauma helped him put together a special playlist. Give it a listen!
