Shared by National American Spinal Cord Injury Consortium (NASCIC)
NASCIC is offering a free online course to increase knowledge of the research process so that individuals with SCI and caregivers feel prepared to serve as research advocates.
The goal of the course is to empower people with lived experience to serve as advisors at every stage and type of research. In this way we aim to have a meaningful impact on research, care, and policy by including the perspective of people with lived experience to help the research community conduct the most relevant, beneficial, and informed work possible.
The SCI Research Advocacy Course includes input from leading clinicians and researchers, as well as the guidance of a large community of people with lived experience of spinal cord injury. As a program created by the community, for the empowerment of the community, the SCI Research Advocacy Course is produced with the oversight of a committee with the strong voices of people with lived experience.
