ECU Health Medical Center (ECUHMC), the flagship tertiary teaching hospital of East Carolina University (formerly known as Vidant Medical Center), is both a Level I Adult and Level I Pediatric Trauma Center.  ECUHMC is an accredited trauma center by the North Carolina office of EMS and American College of Surgeons.

ECU Health Brain Injury Support Group (In Person)

Second Thursday of each month  11:00 A.M.

In conjunction with the Brain Injury Association of North Carolina. Meetings are on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 11:00 am. Support groups are a great way to meet others who have experienced similar things you and your family have been through as a brain injury survivor. Meetings are open to brain injury survivors, both traumatic and non-traumatic, stroke survivors, and loves ones and/or caregivers. These groups provide emotional support, networking opportunities, and invaluable advice for navigating the difficult path of recovery after a brain injury. Eastern North Carolina Amputee Support Group (In Person and Virtual)

Third Thursday of each month • 4:00 P.M.

“We’re a limb you can hold onto”. This group provides support for individuals with limb loss and their family or friends. Meetings are on the third Thursday night of each month, in person or virtually (excluding December). For in-person members, the group meets in the Inpatient Rehabilitation Classroom at 2115 Hospital Loop Road in Greenville. For WebEx information, see below.

NextSteps Online

Ongoing The NextSteps program is a free 6-week self management course designed to recognize that YOU play the most important role in your recovery. based on the principles of self-management. It uses techniques that have been scientifically proven to increase one’s self confidence and sense of empowerment. Virtual Support Groups – 2nd and 4th Wednesday

SECOND Wednesday of each month from 3:30- 5:00PM and the FOURTH Wednesday of each month starting at 5:30pm
Virtual support groups are free, 90 minute online groups to support survivors of physical injury. Groups are co-led by TSN trauma professionals and TSN peers. Click on the website link to register.
