SCI Forum: Beyond Competition: The Adaptive Sports Community

Wednesday, November 20th 7:00pm- 8:20pm PST– The adaptive sports world has many opportunities for individuals with SCI. Whether or not you have ever been involved with sports participation in the past, there are many opportunities to get involved, for season competitors to novices. The local adaptive sports scene is continuing to expand. Kyle Hitzleberg, CTRS, Recreational therapist at Harborview Medical Center, will discuss adaptive sports options for individuals with SCI. He will discuss different sports, such as Boccia, Wheelchair Rugby, Kayaking, Rowing, Cycling, Mountain Biking, Sled Hockey and more – as well as local organizations and how to get involved. We will also learn about the adaptive sports equipment that is available at Harborview Medical Center. Kyle will have some accessible equipment to view in person. Join us! Credits will be available for PT/OT: 1.5 contact hours.
