From promoting injury prevention to providing lifesaving care to supporting trauma survivors and their loved ones – we are here for you. 

At the Trauma Center at NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island, our team provides the highest level of care, including diagnosis, surgical intervention, treatment, and rehabilitation. Your treatment begins with our emergency medical service providers who provide care at the scene of your injury and during transport. When you arrive at our center, you are cared for by our team of specialists  that includes trauma surgeons, neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, emergency medicine physicians, anesthesiologists, physician assistants, trauma nurses, radiology specialists, respiratory therapists, and rehabilitation experts.

Level 1 Trauma Center

As a state-designated Level 1 Trauma Center, verified by the American College of Surgeons, our trauma and critical care surgeons, along with medical specialists, are available anytime, day or night. Our team provides treatment for the most serious injuries, including motor vehicle collisions, falls, accidents, and other life-threatening traumas. Our facility is equipped with the full range of adult trauma resources, and we are also able to assess pediatric injuries. Located within the Emergency Department at NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island , our team is able to deliver all types of immediate surgical care, including neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery. Our trauma facility is a dedicated space that includes a resuscitation unit with operating room capabilities and the most advanced life-support technology.

The Safe Center – Long Island

The hotline provides information, support, and immediate help. Hotline counselors are specially trained in domestic/dating abuse, rape/sexual assault, and crisis intervention. They can support you through your current situation, help you with safety needs and safety planning, and give you information about your options and how to use them.

Tri-State Advocacy Project

The Tri-State Advocacy Project is composed of advocates who have personally faced the challenges of having a family member with a catastrophic injury. They help families navigate the process of working with health insurance, applying for government benefits, and seeking out other community resources.

United Spinal Cord Association – NYC Chapter

NYC Spinal is the NYC Chapter of United Spinal Association. We serve people living with spinal cord injury or disease throughout the Greater New York City area, including Long Island and New Jersey.

American Chronic Pain Association

AMPOWER

Amputee Coalition- Support & Peer Groups

Leadership Camp for 18 and 19 year olds to prepare them for careers and their future. They just moved to Greenville, TN but were able to host a virtual experience for campers.

The Amputee Coalition aims to reach out to and empower people affected by limb loss to achieve their full potential through education, support and advocacy, and to promote limb loss prevention. They offer over 400 support groups and over 1,500 peer visitors across the country, peer support offers the emotional support, encouragement and information vital for a full recovery.

Anxiety and Depression Association of America

The Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA) is dedicated to the prevention, treatment, and cure of anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive, and trauma-related disorders through education, practice, and research. It helps people understand the disorders and educates them about scientifically supported treatments so they can make informed decisions.
