Inova Fairfax Hospital is Northern Virginia’s only Level 1 trauma center. The designation has continually been given to Inova Fairfax Hospital by the Commonwealth of Virginia since 1981. Additionally, we have been verified by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) since 1993.
Patients are transported to the Inova Trauma Center at Inova Fairfax Hospital from Fairfax County, the surrounding counties, West Virginia, and Maryland. We treat traumatic injuries that result from car crashes, falls, industrial incidents, recreational injuries, and acts of violence. Our trauma surgeons and trauma team are available around the clock, 365-days a year to treat life-threatening injuries.

Trauma Talk Support Group
Trauma Talk is an evening support group for trauma survivors, caregivers and family members. The purpose of the group is to connect survivors to one another and share resources that are valuable in recovery. This support group is in-person at the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 6 – 7:30 pm. For more information, contact the coordinator.
Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Group
TBI Group is a day-time support group for survivors of TBI, caregivers and family members. The purpose of the group is to connect survivors to one another and share resources that are valuable in recovery. Ongoing – The NextSteps program is a free 6-week self management course designed to recognize that YOU play the most important role in your recovery. based on the principles of self-management. It uses techniques that have been scientifically proven to increase one’s self confidence and sense of empowerment.
