We are accredited as a Level I Trauma Center by the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation (PTSF) and are a member of the University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS) Trauma Network.

Virtual and In-Person Amputee Support Group
Third Thursday of every month • 4:00 PM – 5:00 PMThose who have experienced an amputation, or friends and family of someone who has experienced an amputation, are encouraged to join our Amputee Support Group. Our guest speakers provide education on various topics. This group offers socialization and support for patients, former patients, and the community.
Amputee Peer to Peer (supportive phone calls)
As needed • As neededAmputee peer visitors have experienced a amputation and have made a successful adaptation to their life after injury. All Amputee peer visitors have completed a training program that teaches them how to be sensitive listeners, communicators and have a better understanding of the recovery process following serious injury
Aphasia Support Group
Second Tuesday of every month • 3:00 pm to 4:30 pmThe Aphasia Support Group is designed to help people living with aphasia. Aphasia is a communication disorder that affects the brain’s ability to use and understand language. Aphasia can interfere with your use of verbal and/or written communication. This group may also be beneficial for family members and friends coping with the ongoing challenges encountered when living with someone who has aphasia. The group sessions will include educational information, guest speakers, and opportunities for social interaction.
Brain Injury Support Group
6:00 PM – 7:30 PMThe Brain Injury Support Group at The Reading Hospital for Post-Acute Rehabilitation is designed to offer support not only to survivors of a brain injury, but to their family and friends. The support group is focused on providing education, emotional support, and opportunities for socialization and peer support.
Spinal Cord Injury Support Group
4th Thursday of each month • 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. The Spinal Cord Injury Support Group is designed to offer support to people living with a spinal cord injury, along with their family and friends. It is focused on providing education, emotional support, and opportunities for socialization and peer support. Caregivers are welcome. Support groups are in person. Please email [email protected] to be added to the list to receive updates on events and/or if you would like a virtual option.
1st Wednesday of every month • 3:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. Recovering from stroke can be a long, hard road – not only for stroke survivors but also for their family and friends. The Stroke Support Group is designed to help stroke survivors, family members, and friends learn more about life after stroke. The group sessions will include educational information, guest speakers, and opportunities for social interaction. For more information, please call 484-628-2721.
Caregiver Support Group
4th Wednesday of every month 4;00 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. The Caregiver Support Group is designed for caregivers who are looking for a safe place to discuss the stresses, challenges, and rewards of providing care for a loved one. There will be opportunities to connect with peers informally, as well as presentations and discussions on topics of special interest to group members.
