Renown Children’s Hospital in Reno, Nevada serves as the region’s only pediatric trauma center, offering immediate, specialized care for critically injured children. Its pediatric trauma team delivers expert, coordinated care designed specifically for the medical and emotional needs of young patients.

With dedicated pediatric emergency, intensive care and acute care units, Renown provides a safe and supportive environment for children at every stage of recovery. Beyond clinical care, services such as Child Life, Pediatric Social Work and Rehabilitation help families navigate the trauma experience with guidance and compassion.

TSN Coordinator: Nicole Bishop

Nicole Bishop is the Pediatric Trauma Program Manager for Renown Children’s Hospital in Reno, NV, with over 26 years of experience in pediatric critical care nursing. Nicole directs her clinical focus and leadership on providing the highest level of pediatric healthcare and outcomes to children. In her current role, she is responsible for quality and trauma patient care initiatives, trauma performance improvement and trauma program development.

Pediatric Trauma Resources for Survivors

TSN Teen & Young Adults Support Group: A place for high-school and college-aged individuals who are trauma survivors to connect and receive support. It is hosted on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 8 p.m. ET. For more information or to register, e-mail [email protected].
Tween/Teen Support Group: For youth ages 11-15 who have experienced a traumatic injury or have experience an injury within their family. This group is hosted from 5-6 p.m. ET on the fourth Tuesday of the month. For more information or to register, e-mail [email protected]
TandemStride: TandemStride is a trauma recovery platform that bridges the critical gap between hospital discharge and daily life. It connects survivors and their loved ones with trained peer mentors, resource navigators, and licensed clinicians who understand trauma recovery, for rapid access to care.

Atrium Health Family and Friends Group: Hosted by Atrium Health Trauma Survivors Network This virtual group has a single link for Survivors, Family & Friends, and Young Adults and then separate into breakout groups after a brief welcome. Injury Prevention in Northern Nevada

Renown Children’s Hospital proudly leads Safe Kids Washoe County, which is part of a global injury prevention organization with the mission of preventing childhood injuries. This mission is accomplished through collaboration and the implementation of community programs aimed at reducing injuries by educating both caregivers and children, creating safe environments, conducting research, and advocating for child safety legislation.
