Reston Hospital Center is a 243-bed Level 2 trauma center located in Reston, Virginia. Serving the Northern Virginia Region, Reston Hospital repeatedly achieves high honors for attentive patient care and nursing excellence, as well as several prestigious accreditations. We employ more than 1,200 staff members and have nearly 200 volunteers who generously donate their time at the hospital each week.
We are excited to begin our journey as a Trauma Survivor Network facility. We know that the needs of those who endure traumatic injuries does not end when they leave the hospital and are dedicated to creating an environment of safety and healing that extends beyond our hospital campus. Please, do not hesitate to reach out to our team – we are here for questions, as well as suggestions for improvement, and are always looking to add more members to our growing Trauma Survivor Network family!
Our design will be featured on the 2026 National Race to Rebuild (R2R) T-shirts! Join the race today and walk/run/roll/ride with us during the month of May to raise awareness for the TSN.
Be sure to join Reston’s Trauma Llama team when you sign up!
Send a selfie or video of you out and about (in your R2R T-shirt if you have it) and tell us your “why” – whether it’s for a loved one, your own experience, or to provide general support – we would love to hear your story.

A rare collaboration between shooting survivor / writer Sam Fuentes and Academy Award® nominee and Peabody Award-winning filmmaker Kim A. Snyder – DEATH BY NUMBERS breaks through an American society increasingly inured to gun violence and seemingly impervious to a nation of traumatized youth. Interweaving Sam’s evocative poetry and her shooter’s harrowing sentencing trial that will determine whether he lives or dies, we follow Sam’s journey to reclaim her power. As she prepares to confront her shooter who left her wounded and killed classmates with an AR-15 in her Holocaust Studies class, she and her teacher examine complex questions of collective hate and what restorative justice looks like for the victims involved.
