

Mayo Clinic is a Level I Trauma Center and Level I Pediatric Trauma Center which provides the highest level of speciality expertise and meets strict national standards. Specialized teams including Trauma surgeons, emergency medicine physicians, trauma-trained nurses, anesthesiologists and operating room personnel, are available around the clock, 365 days a year, to treat life-threatening injuries.
The Mayo Clinic Level I Trauma Center provides optimal care to injured adults and children (pediatrics) through a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach. This approach includes:
- Prevention education
- Mayo One, an emergency medical helicopter service, which provides high-level critical care and rapid transportation.A helicopter can be in flight within minutes of dispatch, 24 hours a day, every day.Mayo One flies more than 1,000 flights a year and covers a 150-mile radius of bases at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN; Chippewa Valley Regional Airport, Eau Claire, WI; and Mankato Regional Airport, Mankato, MN.
- Access to a variety of services including the emergency department, surgical teams, nursing, social work, and chaplain services.
- A nationally recognized Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit and 11 Transitional Care Hospitals providing a continuum of care to assist the patient and family with getting the injured patient home.

A staff facilitated, peer support group for those who have experienced a sudden, unexpected injury and hospitalization. Will be held virtually via Zoom, the first Wednesday of each month. Please email to register.
