Celebrating Volunteers at Atrium Health TSN

Each year during Volunteer Appreciation Month, the Atrium Health Trauma Survivors Network (TSN) hosts an annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner centered on connection, gratitude, and shared purpose. The dinner is a special opportunity to pause, reflect, and celebrate the remarkable trauma survivors who give so much of themselves to our program. Those that are not able to attend the dinner or are honored in other ways.

The evening brings together TSN volunteers, hospital trauma providers, and team members to enjoy dinner, socialize, and participate in a hands‑on community service project. The event is a chance to spend meaningful time together, strengthen relationships, and recognize the collective impact of this community. It is a reminder that healing happens not only in hospitals, but also in the relationships built through compassion, empathy, and presence.

Each year, we also honor our volunteers with a small token of appreciation as a tangible thank you for their dedication. This year, a local small business created custom TSN friendship bracelets for our volunteers. The bracelets serve as a symbol of the strength of our community and the power of connection, reflecting how our volunteers stand together, supporting one another and our patients.

Through our volunteers’ willingness to share their own stories, they offer hope to patients and families navigating some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Their kindness, courage, and generosity help people feel seen, supported, and less alone. The connections they build leave a lasting impression on healing journeys and shape the culture of care within our trauma community.

We are deeply grateful for every volunteer who partners with us in this work. Our program, our patients, and our community are better because of their unwavering commitment. It is truly one of the greatest joys of this work to know and serve alongside such an inspiring group of people.

With my sincerest gratitude, thank you to our Atrium Health trauma survivor volunteers and all TSN volunteers. You are the heart of the Trauma Survivors Network.
