The Trauma Survivors Network is proud to host the Race to Rebuild, a virtual run/walk/ride/roll to the distance of your choice to raise awareness of Trauma Survivors and their journey to recovery. Trauma Survivors Network programs across the country choose to participate in the Race to Rebuild by building teams and hosting events. Some of our TSN coordinators have shared why their sites participate in the Race to Rebuild below.
“Because of the nature of trauma, trauma survivors are often marginalized or made to feel smaller. The Trauma Survivors Celebration 5k Run/1-mile Walk was a great way to honor the courage, strength, and resilience survivors have shown on their recovery journey. It also served as a great way to connect survivors and team members at the hospital that may have been involved in their care. Additionally, survivors were inspired by the other survivors that attended and shared their experiences. It provided them with hope and even encouraged some to sign up as peer mentors.”

“The Race to Rebuild is an integral part of our Trauma Awareness Month celebration. Trauma survivors face incredibly challenging recoveries, and we want to ensure they feel supported, cared for, and never alone. At Northeast Georgia Medical Center, our mission is to improve the health of our community in all we do. By supporting the Trauma Survivors Network’s Race to Rebuild, we, together with our community, can give back and make a meaningful impact physically, emotionally, and financially, ensuring trauma survivors receive the ongoing support they need.”

“Atrium Health Greater Charlotte’s Race to Rebuild is one of our favorite events of the year! Now in our 4th year, our event brings together more than 100 trauma survivors, community members, and supporters. What makes the Race to Rebuild so special is the opportunity to cheer on our survivors as a community. We are so grateful to have an annual event to see previous patients and meet new faces. The Race to Rebuild is a great way to share the mission of the Trauma Survivors Network and come together as a community for a casual day of fun and connection.”
