We often talk about how important it is to educate your staff about the importance of the Trauma Survivors Network. The TSN team at Gold Coast Health has taken it a step further! Below is just a sampling of the outreach they have been doing to talk about their amazing TSN program.
Professor Martin Wullschlegar, Director of Orthopaedics and Trauma, Dave Bell, peer visitor, and Matt Scott, TSN Coordinator, presented at Queensland Trauma and Burns Quality Assurance Committee (QTBQAC) about the TSN and Psychological Trauma.
They also attended Australian and New Zealand Trauma Society (ANZTS) conference in late October. The conference was opened by Heidi Hotz (Cedars Sinai / Former-President of the ATS) as Keynote speaker. During her speech, she spoke about TSN. Heidi’s passion for the program was palpable.
Dave , Martin, Liz, and Matt presented the final Plenary Session of the ANZTS Conference titled “The Trauma Patient Journey” along with some of the Gold Coast Trauma Survivors. It was a great closure for the conference and completion of the circle. Their presentation was very well received and has generated a lot of talk in Australia about the TSN.
Martin has also presented on the behalf of Gold Coast to the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons about their TSN program.
